Women, Non-Binary, and Non-Cisgender Men Delegation

Women, Non-Binary, and Non-Cisgender Men are Long Overdue for Actual, Distinct, Permanent Political Power

“Women hold up half the sky” – Mao

For thousands of years in many societies around the world, women have been objectified and deprived of political power and autonomy by patriarchal social and economic systems, but mostly by men.

Despite more and more representation of women in governments and other positions of power and in media, women are still systemically denied autonomy and representation as a class of people, and many health issues women face remain under-researched, while countless cases of abuse remain ignored and miscarriages of justice to hold men accountable abound. Issues that affect primarily women are still routinely decided overwhelmingly by men.

Patriarchy also affects women themselves, introducing trans-exclusionary ideas and bio-essentialism that alienates women both from other women, and from themselves as they are reduced to this or that “feminine” trait or behavior or task, in their own minds.

Combat Patriarchy!

The Women, Non-Binary, and Non-Cisgender Men’s Delegation of the Worker-Tenant Council is a co-equal delegation, and They will always get a full delegatory vote on Council business.

All local working class women, enbies, and Non-Cis men are voting members of this delegation, while the leadership does not vote, as other delegations. The women enbies and Non-Cis men Delegation will elect its own leadership to guide discussion and serve as the primary point of contact for all Women and gender issues in the Council.

This Delegation will open, lead, and close all Council discussions on topics regarding women’s issues, reproductive care and privacy, abortion, feminine medical care, patriarchy, sexism, gender repression and all other issues that primarily impact othered genders. Any Council committees on women and gender issues will be chaired by a member of this delegation, and this delegation will also hold veto power on these topics in council decisionmaking.
